Abstract

568,038. Carburetters. VOKES, C. G.- Jan. 21, 1943, No. 1089. [Class 7 (iii)] Air entering a casing 4 by a pipe 5 flows upwardly over a thin star-shaped annular container 9 through which hot lubricating oil from the engine flows, the air passing over the top of the container and down the inside through a fabric and wire gauze filter 1, surrounded by the oil container, to an outlet tube 6 leading to the carburetter. The outlet tube 6 carries a plate 8 closing the bottom of the space within the oil container 9 and supports another plate 3, closing the bottom of the air filter 1, the top of which is covered by a plate 2.
