Abstract

568,001. Anti-dazzle screens. SMYE, A. Aug. 20, 1943, No. 13578. [Class 103 (ii)] A sun shield 10 for motor vehicles is suspended by a single bracket 14 having two angular adjustments, one about a horizontal axis and including spring-pressed coacting surfaces with engaging recesses and projections for holding the shield in any adjusted position, and the other about a vertical axis. The member 11, to which the shield is fixed, is pivoted to the bracket 14 by a horizontal pin 15 and the serrated interengaging parts shown are pressed together by a spring plate 16 as shown. A vertical pivot pin 17 formed on the bracket 14 passes through an attachment plate 18 and the bearing surfaces between the bracket and the plate 18 are pressed together by a spring 19.
