Abstract
567,852. Masts. BOWLING, W. F., and RILEY & NEATE, Ltd. June 23, 1943, No. 10130. [Class 20 (i)] A mast for carrying overhead transmission lines comprises a pair of uprights 1 independently pin-jointed at their bases to supports 5, and also pin-jointed at their upper ends 11 to a horizontal member 2 which extends beyond the uprights, the uprights being tied intermediately of their length by members 3 which are rigid with the uprights and are pin-jointed at 8. The transmission lines are carried by insulators 13. The uprights and ties 3 may be of lattice construction and the horizontal member 2 may be built of channel sections or may also be of lattice construction. The mast may comprise more than two uprights, and two or more transmission lines may be supported.
