565,236. Making aircraft wings. BUDD MANUFACTURING CO., E. G. Feb. 3, 1942, No. 20711/43. Convention date, March 26, 1941. Divided out of 565,207. [Class 4] An aircraft wing comprising a leading edge structure 11, chord-wise extending ribs 13, upper and lower reinforced skin blankets 12, 12<1>, a main spar 14 and a trailing edge structure 15, all preformed as described in Specification 565,207, is assembled in consecutive order as follows: The upper skin blanket 12 is welded to one edge of the leading edge structure 11 ; the ribs are disposed in position and welded to the structure 11 and to the blanket 12 which is held in its correct relative position by a jig ; the blanket 12<1> is welded to the other edge of the structure 11 and to the ribs 13 ; the spar 14 is welded to the ends of the ribs and to the skin blankets 12, 12<1> ; and finally, the trailing-edge structure is welded to the ends of the ribs and spar.
