Abstract

564,220. Bee - keepers' appliances. DADANT, H. C., and GROUT, R. A. March 31, 1943, No. 5170. [Class 5 (ii)] Honeycomb foundations comprising wax sheets 15 with embedded wires 17 and supported in a frame 10 are provided around one edge of each sheet with an anchoring bar 21 with an offset portion 24. The bar 21 is seated in a rabbeted portion of the bar 10 and secured by a retaining strip 22 which is slotted or recessed to receive the offset part 24. Either the bent part or one of the limbs of the bar 21 may form the offset portion, and the strip 22 may be recessed either at its upper surface or slotted between its surfaces. The embedded wires may extend into the offset portions, or may be headed to fit within the bend of the bar 21.
