Abstract

562,938. Regulating switches. POULTON, G. W., and ROCKWELD, Ltd. March 22, 1943, No. 4610. [Class 38 (v)] In a switch suitable for are-welding circuits, a fixed contact 16 concentric with the rotatable operating spindle 15 is adapted to be connected to any one of a number of circularly-arranged fixed contacts 14 by a pair of parallel-connected bridgemembers 17, 17<1> apertured to receive a pin 19 which is driven by a pair of links 20, 20<1> fixed to the spindle 15. Springs 18, 18<1> about the pin 19 ensure the necessary contact-pressure without exerting reaction on the spindle, but in Fig. 3 (not shown) a single tension spring is anchored between the members 17, 17<1>. The Provisional Specification describes a slightlymodified arrangement.
