561,787. Wireless receiving apparatus. HARMER, C. A. W., DALGLEISH, J. W., and PYE, Ltd. Feb. 19. 1943, No. 2829. [Class 40 (v)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A tuning device for oscilla tory electric circuits com prises a trimming condenser 1, 6 and an inductance coi 15 mounted coaxially, the trimming condenser com prising a tubular electrode 1 having a second electrode 6 longitudinally movable therein whilst the inductance 15 is wound on a ceramic former 14 having a ferro magnetic core 18 longi tudinally movable therein the means 10 for adjusting the electrode 6 of the con denser and the means 19 for adjusting the core 18 of the inductance being arrangec at opposite ends of the assembly. The electrode 1 is closed by a cap 11, 12 ai one end while the other enc is connected by a ceramic collar 2 to a tube 3 which is formed with an oblique slot 9 for the accommodation of a spring wire 8 which co-operates with a helical groove 7 in the electrode 6 to allow adjustment of the electrode. The assembly is fixed by bushes 4 to a chassis 5.
