Abstract

561,353. Furniture. HARRIS & SHELDON, Ltd., and WOOTTON, E. H. Nov. 16, 1942, No. 16147. [Class 52 (i)] Shop counters, showcases and other furniture are adapted to rest firmly on the ground or be movable bodily by the provision of a pair of wheels 7, each wheel being contained in a housing 13 at the side of the counter 4 &c. in such a manner that the wheel may be brought into either operative or inoperative position merely, by tilting the counter &c. The spindle 10 of each wheel 7 engages in slots 11 in the side faces of the housing, the slots 11 being provided at their ends with a short 11a and a long vertical slot 11b with which the spindle is caused to engage, by tilting the counter 4 &c., to bring the wheels into their operative and inoperative positions respectively.
