561,139. Sterilizing liquids. DEHN, F. B. (Barry-Wehmiller Machinery Co.). March 18, 1942, No. 3602. [Class 49] Containers of beer, milk, &c. traverse chambers into which liquid of the required temperature is sprayed as shown in Fig. 1. The containers are advanced by movement imparted to the supporting bars from beneath. Two sets of bars 35, 41 are carried in slotted crossmembers 36, 42, each set of bars moving freely through slots in cross-members to which the other set of bars is secured. At the same time the two sets of bars rise and fall, The horizontal movement may be imparted by linkwork 117, 118 and the vertical by linkwork 51, 81. The containers are supported by the bars which at the moment are in the upper position and moving forwardly. Below the containers the liquid collects in receptacles for redistribution, the zoning, Fig. 1, differing from that of supply to afford liquid as nearly as possible of the required temperature for recirculation.
