[Class 44] [Also in Groups XXIV and XXIII] The invention of the parent Specification is modified by the addition of a member 23b which is coupled to one of the halves 11a, 11b, of the eccentric clamping means by an intermediate member 43 having screw-threaded parts 43a, 43b, engaging the coupling member 11a, and member 23b, respectively. The threads on the parts 43a, 43b, may be of opposite hand or of different pitch. In the form shown, the member 23b forms a part of a cramp. In a modification the member 43 has a pawl-and-ratchet mechanism for rotating it. The invention may be applied to scribing tools, bar oompasses or trammels.
