559,713. Straining rubber &c. in extrusion machines. HENLEY'S TELEGRAPH WORKS CO., Ltd., W. T., and GRIFFITHS, F. T. July 31, 1942, No. 10786. [Classes 70 and 87 (ii)] A machine for straining rubber and other plastic stock comprises a barrel 1 having a lateral feed opening (not shown) at each end and two or more delivery openings in the wall of the central portion of the barrel, a removable screen 16 across each delivery opening, and a double-acting feed screw 5 for forcing stock through the screens. Each screen is backed by a grid 17 and is removably held in place by a tubular nut 18. Screw threads 24 prevent entry of rubber &c. to the screw bearings.
