[Class 114] A shallow-draught vessel a is propelled, steered and reversed by two or more swivel-mounted propellers p coupled through vertical shafts m, transverse shafts h, h<SP>1</SP> and a central shaft d to a single power unit c. Each mounting comprises a housing o<SP>1</SP> for the vertical shaft m and associated gearing, the housing carrying the propeller shaft p<SP>1</SP> and being rotatably mounted in a pillar j which forms an oil reservoir associated with a lubricating pump 2 driven from the shaft h. Each housing is worm-geared at z, z<SP>1</SP> to a motor 4, the two motors being independently controlled from a panel 5 at the bridge so that the propellers may be independently swivelled for manoeuvering.
