Abstract

557,083. Wireless receiving circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. May 1, 1942, No. 5870. Convention date, March 25, 1941. [Class 40 (v)] A receiver has a loop antenna 1 connected at one end to the input grid of the first amplifier 15 and at the other end to the chassis 11. One or more outside turns 3 connected to the loop 1 at the point connected to the chassis, are coupled through a trimmer condenser 5 to a plate 7 having considerable capacity to ground. By this means, the noise voltage induced in loop 1 due to the capacity between the loop and ground can be exactly neutralized by the noise voltage induced in the outside turns 3 due to the capacity between the plate 7 and ground. A switch 9 for short-circuiting the condenser 5 enables the disectivity of the loop to be reduced in locations where the noise is not troublesome.
