[Class 98 (ii)] Apparatus for continuous development of prints by gas or vapour comprises a gas chamber wherein a pair of rollers rotating in contact is situated at the entrance, and a separate pair at the exit, the rollers feeding the prints directly without the intermediary of endless bands. A gas or vapour seal may be provided on each side of each pair of rollers; print guides may be arranged between the entrance and exit rollers, permitting unrestricted contact of the gas or vapour with both sides of the prints ; and two parallel plates forming a print entrance slot may be mounted outside the chamber. As shown, the gas chamber A, mounted within a ventilated casing E supporting the parallel plates e<SP>2</SP> forming the entrance slot, encloses a pair of entrance rollers B, B<SP>1</SP>, preferably of small diameter, and a similar pair of exit rollers D, D<SP>1</SP>, upon each of which press lightly at each side flexible strips b<SP>2</SP>, d<SP>2</SP> secured to the chamber, which strips give support to the rollers, and also serve as gas seals for the chamber. Print guides C, C<SP>1</SP> stretch between the pairs of rollers, and a tray F is provided for liquid emitting gas or vapour.
