[Class 20 (iv)] Structural steel members A are entirely encased in fireresisting moulded sections D, E, of wood wool bound with a plaster and cement slurry, such as the material known as " Thermacoust " (Registered Trade Mark). Strips B, C of " Thermacoust " are first placed over the flanges, and the previously moulded sections D, E then applied. Joints between the sections are made with gypsum plaster and the sections are held in position by carpenter's cramps. An outer coating of plaster may be applied. For a steel beam, the sections may not extend above tht upper surface of the beam. Specifications 196,687, 214,474, [both in Class 20 (iv)], 429,965 and 550,434 are referred to.
