Abstract
551,543. Wheel tyres. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., HARDEMAN, W. E., and LACEY, B. W. D. Jan. 6, 1942, No. 182. [Class 144 (ii)] A pneumatic tyre for the tail wheel of a plough or other wheel working at an inclination to the vertical is provided with two alternative flat thickened tread portions la, 1b inclined at an angle to the mid plane of the tyre, and further flattened thick side portions 2a, 2b, one of which bears against the side 4 of a furrow. The tyre may be reversed when worn at one side. The tyre surfaces are preferably without pattern, and the portions are separated by semicircular channels 8 to eject soil &c. The side flat portions preferably merge by curves 6 into the inner parts of the sides.
