550,258. Electrolytic cells. STRATFORD ENGINEERING, Ltd. July 14, 1941, No. 8906. Convention date, Aug. 28, 1940. [Class 41] A cell for use for instance in the electrolysis of brine to produce a chlorinating liquid comprises a central electrode 2 surrounded by a tubular electrode 3, both of carbon for example, the liquid to be treated entering the annular space 4 through holes 15 in the insulating base 5 and emerging after treatment through holes 16. An insulating cap 9 formed with an aperture 10 assists the base piece in maintaining the electrodes assembled and centred. Current connection with the electrodes is made by means of clips 11, 12. The cell is used disposed within a batch tank, as shown in Fig. 2.
