Abstract

549,020. Links. ANDRE RUBBER CO., Ltd., T. B., and FRENCH, R. D. April 30, 1941. No. 5622. [Class 108 (iii)] A flexible coupling link comprises two U-shaped members the free ends of which are directed oppositely and are connected to end plates between which a number of rubber units are interposed. One U- shaped member has an eye C<SP>1</SP> welded to or formed with a bridge piece C through which pass bolts C<SP>1</SP> connected to an end plate D. The other U-shaped member has its plane at right-angles to the first and its bolts are connected to an end plate B. Between these end plates are located a number of units each comprising a rubber disc or pad F bonded to a metal plate E which the rubber completely envelops. The plates E have holes to receive the bolts, and the rubber discs have much larger holes. Each rubber unit may comprise two plates such as E. In a modification the eyes are welded to the bridge pieces and the outer ends of the bolts are screwed into their respective end plates which are so placed that a. bonded unit is disposed between each end plate and its adjacent bridge piece.
