548,840. Self-excited alternators. MAWDSLEY'S, Ltd., MINCHIN, C. W; H., and PARSONS, A. J. June 28, 1941, No. 8176. [Class 35] Constant terminal voltage over a wide range of load is obtained by provision for moving away from the neutral axis one or more of the commutator brushes 3, 4 of a self-excited alternator of the kind illustrated, or one having a single armature winding, so that the flux distortion due to load causes a progressive change in excitation voltage with a predetermined brush setting.
