548,215. Linear-dimension gauges. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKA KULLAGERFABRIKEN. March 28, 1941, No. 4239. Convention date, Feb. 9, 1940. [Class 106 (ii)] A plug gauge of the kind in which a gauge body 1 is detachably connected to a holder comprises in combination, a holder, a gauge body having a peripheral groove 2 and means co-operating between the holder and the groove for detachably securing the gauge to the holder. In one form the groove 2 is in the centre and has a snap ring 4 located therein which is clamped by the conical end 9 of the sleeve 7 screwed on to a central screw 5 abutting against the inner end of the gauge and carrying an insulating sleeve 18 by which the gauge is handled. The device carries a gauge at either end and the gauge bodies may be reversed after the part in use becomes worn. In a further form, the middle part of the gauge body between two grooves is formed as the high limit. In a still further form grooves are made near each end of the gauge body and form pilots one of which serves to secure the gauge body in the handle.
