Abstract

548,028. Resilient shock absorbers. SMITH, C. W. PETTIGREW-, and JEWITT, K. M. July 23, 1941, No. 9311. [Class 108 (iii)] In apparatus of the type described in Specification 468,077 having rolling levers 1, 2, and a single overhung spring, a spring supporting rod 9 extends through the trunnion blocks 7, 8 and carries two compression springs 16, 17 on opposite sides of the levers to balance on another and minimise tilting. The two springs force the upper ends of the levers together in opposition to forces which may lie applied to the pins 3, 4 at the lower ends. The outer ends of the rod 9 or of the springs may also be supported.
