547,988. Knobs, attaching. TINNERMAN PRODUCTS, Inc. July 30, 1941, No. 9677. Convention date Nov. 12, 1940. [Class 44] [Also in Groups XXIV and XXIII] A handle 10 is secured to a stem 19 by a fastener 13 of tubular form made from sheet metal and having a pair of longitudinally extending slits. The portion of the fastener 13 adjacent each slit is bent inwardly to engage grooves formed in the stem 19. In Fig. 6 a bent up ear 15 on the fastener engages a groove 16 in the handle and in Fig. 8, an inward projection 30 on the handle engages an opening 31 in the fastener. Two separate fasteners 13, 14, Fig. 2, of different sizes, may be fitted to a single handle so that stems of different sized tools e.g. screw drivers, may be used with a single handle. The handle may be formed of coloured or transparent plastic material and a disc 40 bearing suitable markings may be inserted therein so as to be seen from the outside.
