[Class 100 (iv)] A ribbon-spool is provided on one or both flanges b with an inked pad a which lies against the edges of the ribbon e, and can be supplied with ribbon-ink through apertures in the flanges. The pads consist of one or more discs of felt or the like and are secured at the periphery by stitches, or by bendable lugs on the flanges or a ring resting thereon. A creeping fluid such as paraffin may be added to the ink. Ink can be supplied from an ink-bottle n having screwed thereon an oil-can spout o.
