547,240. Cone friction clutches. LE TOURNEAU, Inc., R. G. March 17, 1941, No. 3660. Convention date, March 18, 1940. [Class 80 (-ii)] One of the elements of a cone friction clutch has a continuous helical oil collecting groove 6 cut in and extending about one working face thereof, oil carry-off grooves 7 extending from the bottom of the groove to the interior of the clutch. As shown, the groove 6 is cut in the inner member 2 of the clutch and is of fine pitch. The groove advances in the sense of rotation of the driving element of the clutch.
