[Class 37] A resistance material having a negative temperature-resistance co-efficient comprises a heattreated mixture of oxides of manganese and copper or of manganese, nickel, and copper. In an example the copper content may be about 15 per cent and the atomic ratio of manganese to nickel between 2 and 4. The material may be made by adding a solution of a copper compound to a mixture of oxides of manganese and nickel, drying the mixture, and heating it. Heating may be effected at 800-1450‹ C.
