Abstract

545,526. Slabs &c. for building. TELLING, A. C. V. Nov. 27, 1940, No. 16995. [Class 87 (i)] A slab 1 of gypsum, plaster &c. moulded with tapering ribs 2, 2a is reinforced by one or more layers 3 of hessian or other textile fabric which extends into the ribs and passes round embedded wooden strips 9. Additionally, a layer of wood &c. may be incorporated in the slab, which may also be strengthened by transverse ribs. To form a roof covering, the slabs are secured to a lining and covered with a layer of bitumastic or like impregnated paper and a top layer of tarred felt. The paper layer may be omitted. In another form, one of the end ribs 2 is omitted, and the rib at the other end is rebated to receive the opposite end of the adjacent slab. Specification 540,393, is disclaimed.
