543,410. Bearings. LITHGOW, J., and THORNTON, J. A. Nov. 5, 1940, No. 16092. [Class 12 (i)] A bearing for a shaft 6 consists of the edges of a number of rings E mounted in a rockable carrier 7, the faces of the rings having an area greater than the edges. The rings may each be in one piece or in two or more parts and are an easy fit on the shaft and in the carrier, being retained by rings 9 fitting into grooves in the carrier. The faces of the rings may have grooves or slots or may be concave to provide lubricant channels. The carrier 7 has a rib 13 for self-aligning and the block 3 has flanges 5 which receive packing rings 10. Specification 532,228 is referred to.
