Abstract

541,074. Automatic exchange systems. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and WRIGHT, E. P. G. April 9, 1940, No. 6391. [Class 40 (iv)] Ticketing apparatus for calls originated at a number of exchanges is situated at a central exchange through which the ticketed calls are not necessarily established. As shown, apparatus SE, permanently associated with the outgoing end of a junction from exchange B to exchange A and in which the called number is recorded, is associated at the end of the call with common apparatus CC associated with a particular junction to the ticketing exchange C and this record and other particulars are signalled over the latter junction. Storing wanted number. Line relay A, Fig. 2, repeats the wanted number over the junction and to a switch RS which transfers its record to one of a number of condenser registers connected up in turn by a switch SS in the interval between the relapse of relays C, CC at the end of each digit and then goes home. Transfer of information to ticketing exchange. When the called party replies, D pulls up and causes switch FS of the common apparatus to hunt for the circuit SE. The records of the condenser registers are then transferred to registers (not shown) in the common apparatus. At the end of the call, if the recording junction is or when it becomes idle, ST, Fig. 3, is energized from the circuit CC and sends a distinctive calling signal over the simplex circuit after which the stored information is transferred in any suitable way. Specification 516,409 is referred to.
