Abstract

539,773. Electromagnetic relays. MULLER, H. Dec. 22, 1939, No. 16258/38. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect 91 of the Acts, Dec. 1, 1938.] [Class 38 (v)] [Also in Groups XXXV and XXXVI] The permeability of a magnetic conductor carrying a main flux N is controlled by current in a saturating winding R1 arranged on a fixed magnetic member R lying transverse to the direction of the main flux and remote from any winding used in producing the main flux. The arrangement may be applied to an electromagnetic relay, the variably saturated part of the magnetic circuit forming a magnetic shunt to a permanent or electromagnet which cooperates with either a moving coil or an armature carrying contacts. Specification 171,218, [Class 38 (ii)], is referred to.
