[Class 142 (ii)] The heddles c<SP>1</SP>, c<SP>2</SP> of a circular loom are raised and lowered by springs h<SP>1</SP>, h2 and cams j<SP>1</SP>, j2 on shafts i arranged at intervals round the loom. The cams act on levers k<SP>1</SP>, k<SP>2</SP> the ends of which are hooked to co-operate with spring pawls s<SP>1</SP>, s<SP>2</SP>. When these pawls are lowered they successively lock the levers and hold the warp threads down to expose the shuttle. When the pawls are raised they successively release the levers and the healds are operated normally. The shaft r carrying the spring pawls can be rotated by hand or by a weft stop mechanism.
