534,385. Air &c. filters. AIR MAZE (GREAT BRITAIN), Ltd. (Air-Maze Corporation). Feb. 17, 1940, No. 3042. [Class 8 (ii)] [Also in Group I] A filter is formed of wire gauze which is first crimped or corrugated and then folded so that portions of the peaks of the corrugations are in contact and prevent nesting of the folds. Fig. 1 shows a corrugated sheet which is folded in two along the line a-a; where more than one fold is made, the completed element may constitute a flat N or W. The pitches of the corrugations on the two sides of the line a-a may differ. A flat portion may be left between two parallel folding lines, providing in the finished element a plain sheet lying between oppositely corrugated sheets. Alternately, the parts on opposite sides of the folding line a-a may be oppositely corrugated and two such folded elements may be nested together. A cylindrical filter may be formed as in Fig. 19, by rolling a folded element. U.S.A. Specification 1,918,006 is referred to.
