[Class 41] Graphite is deposited on an electrode or on a porous body between two electrodes immersed in a dispersion of graphite in a non-aqueous liquid, which is miscible with water, and to which a small quantity of acid or alkali has been added to stabilize the dispersion and increase the conductivity. If alkaline, the graphite passes to the anode and if acid to the cathode. As dispersing liquids, acetone or alcohol may be used, and they may contain a small proportion of water or an aqueous solution of tannic acid.
