Abstract

530,488. Screw propellers. BOBERG, J. A. June 26, 1939, No. 18538. [Class 114] A cylindrical metal casing open at both ends is attached to the tips of screw propeller blades; and has scoops in its periphery behind the plane of the propeller. The blades 1 carry at the tips a cylinder 3 which has longitudinal or oblique openings and co-operating blades 4 whereby on rotation of the propeller water is drawn into the propeller race.
