528,602. Cartons. CARTNER, J., and MORGAN, G. W. L. May 10, 1939, No. 13961. [Class 66] The weakening lines provided to facilitate the opening of a carton consist of a series of spaced incisions 3a, for instance of the forms shown in Figs. 3, 4, and 4a, the material displaced during the making of the incisions, i.e., the burrs produced at the-edges of the cuts, being rolled or otherwise. re-set into the plane of the material and then sealed by a covering 7 of paraffin wax or other preferably thermo-plastic sealing material. The incisions are made in the blank, which may have applied to one surface a coating of metal foil to afford a lining for the carton. Specifications 515,282 and 515,384 are referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 515,282.
