Abstract

527,082. Sifting-apparatus MORGAN, J. March 27, 1939, No. 9580. [Class 117] A device for vibrating the screen 2 of reciprocating screens consists of tappers 16 mounted on leaf springs 14 carried by an oscillating shaft 5 supported in bearings on the frame 8 of the screen. The leaf springs are secured to arms of a block 10 mounted on the shaft 5 and having a vertical arm 13 connected to a vertical leaf spring 21 which is anchored at its upper end to a stationary support 4, which also carries a bracket 25 with an adjusting screw 26 for varying the movement of the tapping devices. The shaft 5 carries at each end an adjustable pendant balance weight 9. The movement of the tapping devices is derived automatically from the movement of reciprocating screens.
