Abstract

526,761. Fountains. SOLIERI, H. March 16, 1939, No. 8491. [Class 69 (i)] A dry fountain comprises means for forcing a gaseous stream under pressure through an ejector to a nozzle, solid particles being fed to the ejector to be thrown into the air with the jet from the nozzle, said particles being then caught and guided back to the ejector for recirculation. The solid particles may comprise granulated sugar or farinaceous material such as tapioca or fragments of thin mirrored or other glass. A source of gaseous pressure fluid, such as a blower 5, delivers to an ejector comprising a small tube 2 below a larger tube 3 leading to a nozzle 7. A sloping surface, which may comprise sectors 8 of differently coloured glass, leads the solid particles to the ejector. Lights 9 may be provided, and a changing colour effect may be obtained by energizing lamps in succession, or by mechanical masking.
