Abstract

526,080. Friction clutches. ANDRE (COMPONENTS), Ltd. and TRIER, V. A. March 8, 1939, No. 7520. [Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Groups XXXII and XXXIV] In a frictional vibration damper, brake or clutch, the friction element C between the parts A', B' between which relative movement is to be restricted is formed in two parts with an interposed floating part E of metal, preferably stainless steel or brass. The outer edge of a floating disc between two wood friction discs is formed or provided with a rib E<1> preventing the entry of dirt between the discs. The faces of the parts A<1>, B<1> in contact with the friction discs may have a covering of non-corrosive material such as stainless steel or brass.
