526,037. Electrodeposition of tin alloys. REMY, VAN DER ZYPEN & CO. March 6, 1939, No. 7326. Convention date, March 7, 1938. [Class 41] In forming electroplated tin coatings on metals such as iron or steel sheets for making preserve tins, a small quantity of bismuth or antimony salts is added to the plating bath. Cadmium salt may also be added. The plated article is heated under a protective film of oil or tallow to render it dense. The plating bath contains also sulpho-acids, colloids, glycerine, mannite &c. The composition of the anode corresponds with that of the coating obtained.
