524,128. Bearings, BUGATTI, E, Jan. 23, 1939, No. 2301. Convention date, Dec. 28, 1938. [Class 12 (i)] A bearing has a bearing surface of anti - friction metal divided into a plurality of sections 4 separated by thin metal ribs 5 harder than the anti-friction metal, the ribs 5 being closely and regularly disposed throughout the bearing surface with the exposed surface of the ribs lying flush with that of the lining. The crosssection of the antifriction metal pieces may be semi-circular or trapezoidal. The ribs may be disposed helically, axially, or transversely or form a network running in two or more intersecting directions. The anti-friction metal pieces may be removable. Oil grooves 3 may be formed at the ends of the bearing.
