Abstract
522,711. Fusible cut-outs. TUCKER & CO., Ltd., J. H., and FUKE, F. C. Dec. 14, 1938, Nos. 36383/38, 6270/39 and 14677/39. [Class 38 (i)] A fuse cartridge is held in place in a carrier by the action of resilient contacts that grip the caps of the cartridge and engage with the carrier. The cap c of the cartridge is surrounded by a ring b forming part of the end contact that has blades b<1> for engagement with a U-shaped fixed contact on the base. The blades b<1> are pressed together gripping the cap c and passed through a slot a<6> in the carrier a and then allowed to spring out into recesses a', the cartridge being retained at each end by an ear b<3>. The slot a<6> may be obliquely arranged, the blades b<1> being so held in a single recess at one side of the slot. Retention of the contacts may be assisted by the engagement in lateral recesses on the carrier of ears e<2>, Fig. 11,. formed on a, U-shaped spring e inserted between the blades b<1>. The spring is retained in position by pips engaging holes b<4> or by the ears e<2> passing through holes in the blades b<1>.
