[Class 60] A device for trueing the profile of a grinding- wheel 1 intended for forming internal screwthreads, comprises a cylinder 6 carrying a table 6a and mounted, by means of an arm 4 and a bush 5 slidable on a pivot 10 rotatably mounted in bearings 7, 8, on a part 3 of the grinding- machine. The bush is adjustable along the pivot by a screw 11 engaging a nut 13 extending through slots in the pivot and secured to the bush 5 ; when the device is in operative position the arm 4 rests on a stop 15, and when not in use it is turned with the pivot 10. The bearing 8 has a locking device 9 for securing the device in adjusted position. In the cylinder 6 is rotatably mounted a hollow member 16 carrying a pivot pin 17, on which is a tool-holder 19 having adjustable therein, by a micrometer screw 22, a diamond 21, and mounted on the table 6a .coaxial with the member 16 is a microscope 27 for' observing the work' and for setting the diamond. The holder 19 is oscillated to carry the diamond across the wheel 1 by a handle 18, through an eccentric acting on a plunger acting an arm on the holder 19, and the member 16 is rotated to bring the diamond into position to operate on the flanks of the wheel profile by an arm 23, adjustable stops 24, 25 being provided to engage an arm 26 on the member 16 ; or a scale on the table 6a may be used. The member may be positioned for trueing a cylindrical surface by a pivoted stop 29, which may be swung about a pivot to engage the arm 26. The rounded periphery of the wheel is trued by setting the diamond by means of the screw 22 and the microscope, and rotating the member 16 about its axis.
