[Class 37] Impulse testing apparatus has the intermediate condensers K1 .. 5 separated on one side from adjacent main condensers C1 .. 5 by additional spark gaps f1 .. 5, and separate charging resistors VI .. 5 are employed. The effect of the additional spark gaps is to compensate for differences in the adjustments of the main gaps F1 .. 5, the additional gaps being subjected to the voltage of the intermediate condensers and thus hastening the complete impulse without distorting the wave front. Specification 509,614 is referred to.
