[Class 26] [Also in Group VI] In a unit comprising a sink and draining- slab the sink 4 is secured under an opening in the slab 1 and is provided, in the form shown in Fig. 2, with an upstanding ridge within the thickness of the top edge of its wall, over which fits an edge portion or spigot 6 formed on the slab in order to prevent the passage of water through the joint. Fig. 6 shows a modification in which the upstanding ridge on. the sink enters a recess in the slab. In both cases the edges of the opening in the slab are flush with the inner faces of the sink walls to form continuous surfaces. The sink may be supported by suspension members 13 secured by bolts 12 embedded in the slab, or by ears 15 provided on it and secured by the bolts; alternatively, one ear may rest in a cavity under the slab and the other be bolted.
