[Class 18] A hinged shield for protecting electric switches &c. e.g., a push button, for controlling the discharge of fire-extinguishing fluid on aircraft or for operating landing flares, is spring-actuated so that it snaps into the open and closed position. For this purpose a leaf spring 12 is provided which engages cams 5 on a clamping ring removably secured to the casing of the switch &c.
