Abstract

520,901. Sockets. VOMAG MASCHINENFABRIK AKT.-GES. (formerly VOMAG BETRIEBS AKT.-GES.). Nov. 3, 1938, No. 31874. Convention date, Nov. 11, 1937. [Class 83 (iii)] [Also in Group XXIV] Quick-change sockets for mounting drills &c. in spindles employ a screwed ring which on limited relative rotation between the shank and socket wedges the parts together. The ring 6 is arranged at approximately the mid-position of a threaded portion 4 of the shank and projections 7, 8, on the ring align with corresponding openings 10, 11 in the socket. The parts are then pushed together until the collar 2 contacts the outer face of the socket. Relative rotation of the parts then causes a projecting pin 14 on the inside of the socket to engage one of the projections 7, 8 on the nut to rotate it and tighten it against the inside face of the socket opening thus securing the members together. Cylindrical parts 3, 5 secure proper alignment. Recesses 15 are for spanner engagement.
