Abstract

519,841. Winding thread. COURTAULDS, Ltd., and MORTON, E. A. Sept. 30, 1938, No. 28492. [Class 120 (ii)] The tension on a thread passing to a bobbin rotating at a constant angular speed is maintained constant by a freely rotatable pulley over which the thread passes and which is braked by means operated by a feeler arm contacting with the wound thread on the bobbin. As shown the pulley 1 is braked by a disc 4 pressing against a felt disc 5, the disc being carried by a rod 3 slidable in the bearing 2 and actuated by a pivoted lever 7 connected by a spring 6 with the pivoted feeler arm 10 contacting with the thread on the bobbin 11.
