Abstract

518,919. Current measurements. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., MORRIS, H. W., and TURNER, H. C. July 7, 1938, No. 20145. [Class 37] In a moving-coil ammeter adapted to operate with a logarithmic or like characteristic, an extension piece 4 of thin iron strip is provided on one pole piece 3 of the instrument permanent magnet 1 so as to produce a counter torque in the moving coil 6. The extension piece 4 is adjustably secured to the pole piece 3 by a screw passing into the side of the pole piece through a slot in a flange 7 on the extension piece. The instrument is used with a photo-electric exposure meter and is made sensitive for low light intensities, the extension piece being adjusted to bring the pointer on to the scale when used with large light intensities.
