Abstract
516,919. Harvesting root crops. DOULL, G. June 26, 1939, No. 19642/38. [Class 6 (iii)] A machine for harvesting root crops comprises two obliquely arranged discs and a curved plate 15 with a sharp lower edge fixed behind the discs, so that as the discs roll forward the crops are lifted and directed over the top of the plate to an elevator or container. The inner faces of the discs may have short radial ridges 17, Fig. 3, and their edges may be formed with radial spurs 18, Fig. 4.
