516,678. Cement pipes. KILBURN, B. E. D. (Magnani, A.). July 4, 1938, No. 19750. [Class 99 (ii)] [Also in Group V] Cement &c. pipes of varying lengths are made by forming a pipe of predetermined length with a socket at each end and then cutting through it at one or two places to produce two pipes having a socket at one end. The pipe is formed on a hollow mandrel 1 by one or more shaping rollers 2 which may be rotated at a speed different from that of the mandrel. A vacuum is maintained within the mandrel the wall of which is perforated, and one of the socket-forming heads 9, 10 is detachable. Specifications 361,598, [Group V], and 491,508 are referred to.
