Abstract

515,585. Eccentrics. KINETOR (DEVELOPMENT), Ltd., and VESPOLI, A. H. June 7, 1938, No. 16898. Addition to.482,337. [Class 122 (i)] The shaft 1 of an eccentric having parallel flats 2 at its middle section or block 3 and adjusted in the sheave 5 by a pair of screws 6a, 6b passing through the block and bearing against the sheave walls, as described in the parent Specification, has the two screws engaging within the sheave either by gear-wheels 12a, 12b directly engaging and mounted on pins 9a, 9b fixed in the screws or by indirect engagement of gear wheels through an intermediate piston. The pins 9a, 9b are locked by nuts 15a and one of them carries a head rotatable to effect the adjustment of the screws and eccentric by a tool inserted through a hole 13a in the eccentric strap. In a modification the sheave has lateral extensions enveloping the strap, and an adjusting pinion is located in a recess in the face of one of these extensions and is therefore accessible in any position of the eccentric.
